Richard Farmer and Gail Somerville Farmer

Richard Farmer and Gail Somerville Farmer were married June 10, 1961 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro by Father John Quinn.

Dick was a banker in the Utica area for 32 years. Gail was a teacher’s aide at their parish school for 13 years.

They were blessed with five children: Karen (Kevin) Nolan, Kathy (Steve) Bray, Sue Farmer and fiancé Jim Watson; Shari (Bill) Corrigan and Rick (Ann) Farmer. They have six grandchildren: Amanda Van Etten, Ciara, Nolan, Sam and Nate Corrigan and Jill and Paige Farmer.

Gail and Dick were summer parishioners at St. Patrick’s Church in Forestport for 30 years and have been full-time parishioners there for the past 20 years. It’s now a part of Christ Our Hope Catholic Community.

The family will celebrate their 50th anniversary in August at Eagle Bay Village in the Adirondacks.
