mom_and_dad_portrait_001 Joseph and Barbara (Klonowski) Casper of Baldwinsville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 11. Their celebration began with a Mass at the chapel of St. Mary’s Assumption Church in Baldwinsville. There was a reception following the Mass, organized by their children.

During that time they lived on Kwajalein, a remote island in the South Pacific, where he installed a radar system, and later lived in Scotland, U.K. for two years supporting the R.A.F.

The Caspers have traveled extensively both internationally and in the states. They made religious pilgrimages to the Holy Land, Ephesus, Fatima, Lourdes, Medjugorje, Knock, and many other sites where saints have been laid to rest, including St. James Tomb in Compostella, Spain. They continue to make yearly pilgrimages to visit the Canadian shrines: Saint Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal, Saint Anne de Beaupre Basilica in Quebec and Madeleine of the Cape at Three Rivers.

Joe is an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. Barbara taught religious education for many years and together they are active in their parish community.
