Do you remember Msgr. Charles Borgognoni?

SYRACUSE — Syracuse University’s St. Thomas More Foundation (Catholic campus ministry) in conjunction with the College of Visual and Performing Arts is pleased to announce a collaboration to produce a documentary celebrating the life and work of Msgr. Charles Borgognoni (1923-2007). The film is expected to be released in early 2014, the 75th anniversary of the St. Thomas More Foundation.

Msgr. Borgognoni was Catholic chaplain for Syracuse University from 1962-1991. He was also well known for his work with the Pompeian Players, an amateur theatre troupe based out of his parish of Our Lady of Pompei in Syracuse.

Currently, the film is in the research stage of production and the producers are asking the community to lend a hand in completing the story of Msgr. Borgognoni’s life. The St. Thomas More Foundation is calling for photos of Msgr. Borgognoni with students and the Players, as well as photos of Players’ productions. Video and audio recordings, especially of Msgr. Borgognoni’s homilies, would also be of great benefit to the filmmakers.

Anyone with a contribution to this project is asked to call (315) 478-5959 or email as soon as possible.
