Christmas events at the Cathedral

Christmas carolers wanted
   Singers of all ages are encouraged to be part of an ongoing tradition of singing Christmas carols in Syracuse’s Armory Square. Interested singers should meet at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, located in the Bishop Curley Building, 421 S. Warren St., Syracuse, on Sat., Dec. 21 at 12:30 p.m. Music will be provided.

Season of Light and Hope
   An Advent afternoon of musical reflection featuring the Cathedral Choir and Cantors will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, on Sun., Dec. 22 at 4 p.m.
   The Cathedral offers the opportunity to experience the spirit of expectation, anticipation and preparation as the Advent season concludes. Cantors Jonathan Howell, Susan Stukus, Tallon Larham, Nora Fleming, Tom Anzalone and Shannon Proctor will join the choir for a presentation of musical reflections prior to the Anointing Mass at 5:10 p.m. The music of Bach, Mendelssohn, Handel and other contemporary composers will be featured. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit Amaus Medical Services at the Cathedral.
