Father Raynald YudinFather Raynald Yudin, OFM Conv., died peacefully at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse Dec. 10, 2013 after a long illness.
   Born in Binghamton, he was the son of the late John and Frances (Kiley) Yudin.
   Father Yudin was professed as a Conventual Franciscan Friar on Aug. 15, 1956 in Middleburgh, N.Y. He made his solemn profession of vows on Sept. 26, 1959 in Rensselaer, N.Y and was ordained to the priesthood on May 26, 1962 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Albany.
   Father Yudin spent his early years as a teacher at Canevin High School, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Maria Regina College, Syracuse. He also served as principal at Bishop Ludden High School, Syracuse. He later served as pastor of Holy Family, Elizabeth City, N.C.; Immaculate Conception, Trenton, N.J.; Assumption, Syracuse; and St. Joseph-St. Patrick, Utica. Father Yudin also served as the director of the Franciscan Mission Association, Rensselaer. At the time of his death he was pastor of St. Francis, Bridgeport, and St. Mary’s, Minoa.
   In addition to his parents, Father Yudin was predeceased by his niece, Maureen Crounse.
   He is survived by his brother, Robert (Helen); his sisters, Nancy Yudin Crounse, Johann Roberts, and Judy (Marv) Frey, as well as his uncle, Joseph Yudin, aunt, Colette Grace, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s on Dec. 16 with interment in the Friars’ Plot in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
   Donations in memory of Father Yudin may be made to the Franciscan Friars’ Retirement Fund, P.O. Box 629, Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144.
