Military retirement for Syracuse priest

Father Gary M. Fukes, a priest for the Diocese of Syracuse currently stationed in Radcliff, Ky., within the Archdiocese of Louisville, has retired from his position as U.S. Army chaplain. Father Fukes has been chaplain for 13 years.
Prior to going on active duty in the military, Father Fukes was an administrator for St. Joseph’s-St. Patrick’s Parish and St. George’s Parish in Utica. Now that he is retired from the military, Father Fukes hopes to return to the Diocese of Syracuse and work with veterans at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse.
