Father Charles Borgognoni documentary to debut

   The St. Thomas More Foundation in conjunction with the Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts is pleased to announce the completion and debut of their collaborative documentary film celebrating the life and work of Father Charles Borgognoni (1923 – 2007).

   Father Charles was the Catholic chaplain for SU and SUNY ESF from 1962 until 1991, was well known as the director of the theater group the Pompeiian Players and for his support of SU football and basketball, and was well respected as a mentor and spiritual advisor to literally thousands of students and parishioners.

   The film, simply titled “Father Charles,” will debut on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Alibrandi Catholic Center, 110 Walnut Pl., Syracuse, as part of the St. Thomas More Foundation 75th Anniversary celebration. Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. social hour, dinner at 6 p.m. (choice of stuffed chicken or prime rib) and the 7 p.m. viewing of the documentary and a few short tributes from friends and family who knew and loved him. Complimentary parking is available in the University Ave. Parking Garage. Tickets are $50, with discounted rates for purchasing a table of 8, and can be purchased at the Alibrandi Catholic Center.
