Got questions? Catholic conference for young adults has answers

A Catholic conference for young adults will take place Sat., Feb. 21 at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Singles, college students and married couples are welcome to attend the day-long retreat of prayer, reflection and recollection.

The conference offers an opportunity for young adults of all ages to take a few hours to answer the deep longing and many questions of the heart, such as “Why am I here?” “Do I have a purpose?” “How does God fit into my life?” and “Is this all there is to life”?

The day will begin with uplifting music, prayer and a discussion on Christian living for young adults by speaker Matthew Leonard, the executive director of St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology in Steubenville, Ohio. Leonard will speak to attendees about his own conversion to Catholicism, how to grow closer to God through prayer and the three states of Spiritual Life (or as Leonard refers to it, Spiritual GPS). Leonard, a former missionary to Latin America, often appears on EWTN and Shalom Media. He is the author of two books, Louder than Words: The Art of Living as a Catholic, and Prayer Works! Getting a Grip on Catholic Spirituality.

The retreat will end with a question-and-answer session and a special Holy Hour that will incorporate spiritual music and a time for reflection. Lunch will be served during the day.

There is no cost to attend the conference. To register, visit http://youngadultcatholicconference.wordpress.com or contact hfamily@twcny.rr.com.
