“Breaking Into Jail” lecture at Le Moyne 4/9

The 2015 Berrigan Lecture will be given by Jail Ministry founde, Bill Cuddy on April 9 at 7 p.m. in the Grewen Auditorium on the Le Moyne Campus. Admission to the event is free.

In 1974, Cuddy was assigned as the Catholic chaplain to the Onondaga County Jail. Two years later, his proposal for a community-based jail ministry of trained visitor advocates for relating to inmates on a person-to-person basis was accepted by the Sheriff’s Department. Cuddy is currently the spiritual minister in the Justice Center and a member of the Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse Justice Task Force and the Justice and Peace Committee of St. Lucy’s Parish.

The Rev. Daniel Berrigan, SJ, International House Peacemaker Lecture Endowment was established in 2000. Each year the college invites a prominent peacemaker to deliver this lecture.
