HOPE for Bereaved to present program on coping with grief

Marianne Angelillo, author of the book Sharing My Stones, will present a program at HOPE for Bereaved’s Center, 4500 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. She will share her grief journey, along with hopeful coping skills.
Angelillo’s story shows the benefits of facing the pain of grief. The bereaved will recognize the roller coaster of emotions that she and her family experienced. Her determination that something positive would come from her son’s tragic death is shown by her efforts to educate parents, youth and school personnel on the dangers of drinking and driving and the importance of making healthy choices. Angelillo’s son Matt was a passenger in a car driven by a drunk driver.
Angelillo has been a public speaker for 10 years. She has presented 36 programs across New York State in the past year. Sharing My Stones is a message of hope and a road map for all bereaved. It will be offered for sale, with 15 percent of the cost being donated to HOPE.
All are welcome, including those who want to learn more about coping or how to help loved ones who are grieving. Participants will learn how to find purpose, patience and hope through the pain.
