Seton Catholic Central to host Relay For Life

BINGHAMTON — Students of Seton Catholic Central will host a Relay For Life beginning Friday, May 13, at 6 p.m. and ending Saturday, May 14, at 6 a.m. in the school’s gym.

Relay For Life is a fundraising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society, during which teams of students will take turns walking a track throughout the night. Donations are pledged for their marathon efforts. This is the fourth year that Seton’s students are hosting a Relay for Life. Over the last three years approximately $50,000 has been raised for the American Cancer Society. Community members interested in donating to Seton’s relay can visit relayforlife.org/setoncatholicny.

“Relay For Life brings students together in an extraordinary setting to raise critical funds for the Cancer Society’s multi-faceted mission. It’s a phenomenal event,” said Richard Bucci, President of Broome County’s Catholic Schools. Bucci also serves as President of the Board of Directors of The American Cancer Society.

“Seton’s students have devoted a significant amount of time and energy to this unique fundraiser. I’m proud of their ongoing commitment to meaningful community service,” said Matt Martinkovic, Seton’s principal.
