DAY OF SONG AND SERVICE: Students from OLS-Seton and St. Joseph's School were treated on Oct. 23 when liturgical music composers Mark Friedman and Janet Vogt shared their music with pre-school through eighth grade students. the young people participated in music workshops, service projects and discussions, all related to the day's theme, "Be the Hands and Heart of God." ENDICOTT SCHOOLS CELEBRATE CATHOLIC IDENTITY WITH A FALL FESTIVAL: The festival brought together families from St. Joseph and OLS-Seton Schools on the evening of Nov. 12. The celebration began with a Mass in which students served as cantors. Refreshments were served and the children won prizes at various games. OLS-SETON STUDENTS SUPPORT LOCAL COMMUNITY WITH DONATIONS: Students at OLS-Seton in Endicott donated their money, time and talents to help the needy in their community. They donated $1,300 to the Bernard Children Trust Fund, among others. Funds were raised in a variety of ways, including two bake sales, a can and bottle drive and the "Pennies for Our Neighbors" program. Earlier in the year, OLS-Seton students generously supported the Catholic Charities Christmas Gift Drive, collected children's books for several organizations, made seasonal place mats to accompany Meals on Wheels meals, sent cards to the home bound, supported a local animal shelter, donated to local food pantries and collected items for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. |
