Approximately 150 altar servers from parishes throughout the Diocese assembled on a recent Sunday afternoon at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for the first ever Diocesan Altar Server Celebration!

They ranged from young elementary school age through high school, with even a few adult ministry members sprinkled in for good measure. About 150 altar servers in all, representing parishes throughout the diocese, took part in the first ever Diocesan server celebration gathering at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The event took place on Sunday, Oct. 2. Father Christopher Seibt, head of the Office of Liturgy, brought the idea to Father Jason Hage in the Office of Vocations and they partnered to make this very special event become a reality. Greeting the altar servers was Bishop Douglas J. Lucia. (Sun photos | Chuck Wainwright)
