Mercy House of the Southern Tier has been selected to be featured in an upcoming episode of Living Divine Mercy, a nationally televised program produced by The Marian Group and broadcast on EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) – Spectrum Channel 49. The episode will air at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, with a rebroadcast scheduled for the following Monday at 9 a.m.

Living Divine Mercy highlights individuals and organizations that embody compassion, faith, and service. Mercy House was chosen for its mission-driven work providing comfort, dignity, and loving care to individuals at the end of life – particularly those who might otherwise face that journey alone.

“Mercy House was chosen because it so beautifully embodies the theme of our show, Living Divine Mercy. It provides compassionate care for the sick and the dying – especially those who might otherwise face the end of life alone – and reflects the Marian charism of accompanying souls with prayer, dignity, and love on their journey home to God,” said Hope, production assistant for Living Divine Mercy.

The opportunity came after a supporter of Living Divine Mercy – and a resident of Broome County – shared Mercy House’s story with the production team. After learning more about the organization’s mission and impact, The Marian Group reached out to Mercy HOuse to explore a feature on its history and model of care.

The production team visited Mercy House to conduct in-depth interviews with key staff members and founder Fahter Clarence, documenting the organization’s origins, philosophy, and the unique way it serves the Southern Tier community. The goal of the episode is to share Mercy House’s story in hopes of inspiring other communities to establish similar homes of compassionate end-of-life care.

The episode, along with others from the series, will also be available for viewing online at divinemercyplus.org.

Mercy House leaders expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share their mission on a national platform and for the continued support of the community that makes their work possible.
