Central Square parish hosts diocesan couples’ night out

Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square was the site of an Embrace Night gathering on a recent Friday evening. The event featured an engaging, fun and memorable talk by Catholic evangelists and marriage veterans Chris and Linda Padgett followed by conversation and prayer time for the 27 couples in attendance. The program included dinner, beverages, cookies and free resources from the Office of Family/Respect Life.

Childcare was provided by Divine Mercy’s Youth Ministry team and children enjoyed pumpkin painting, movie and pizzas. “Embrace” will be followed up by a couples’ community building program called The B.A.R. for couples (“Building Authentic Relationships”) at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at Divine Mercy Parish. The B.A.R. will include a video series featuring the Padgetts, followed by discussion questions and fellowship. The first program will be hosted at the church and volunteers are invited to host future events in the home.
