St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Blessed Sacrament Parish in Utica held their first St. Joseph’s Table after many years on March 17th following Mass. The tradition traces its origins to Sicily where a celebration of gratitude was offered to St. Joseph following a prolonged drought. The tradition centers around a meatless meal and various breads and St. Joseph cakes, supplied in this case by a local bakery. The well-attended event took place in the church gym, free of charge but donations were encouraged.  All proceeds raised were donated to charity.
