St. Francis Ministry held a Ladies Valentine Tea and Luncheon at the Concordia Restaurant in Endicott on February 15. Proceeds from the event benefitted the St. Clarence Educational Center in Kenya. Sister Anisia Muthoni, of St. Anthony’s Parish, Endicott, saw a need in her homeland to educate orphaned and underprivileged children and now serves as CEO and Director of the program, assisted by a Board of Directors who help co-manage the project.

The boarding school currently houses 120 students, ages 3–10, and consists of classrooms, libraries, computer labs, a dining room, small kitchen, and dormitories. The goals yet to be realized include a dispensary, securing a school bus, equipping the library, developing a Home Economics course where the children can learn daily life skills, and the completion of the Mission House, which is currently underway and will serve as accommodation for volunteers and exchange students alike.

The organization’s mission is to provide quality education to orphans and impoverished children in Kenya, giving them the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and build brighter futures.

Fundraising efforts continue throughout the year with the 13th Annual Golf Tournament Dinner on September 13, 2026, at Traditions at the Glen, Johnson City, NY, and an ongoing health and beauty products sale.
