The saints were marching in at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish in Utica! Some of the Faith Formation children in kindergarten to sixth grade celebrated the Feast of All Saints at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Oct. 30 with their pastor, Father James Cesta.

And at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cortland a joyful All Saints Day celebration took place at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Oct. 30.

Faith Formation students from pre-K through high school prepared for the celebration at weekly Sunday classes for the entire month of October. Every class studied various saints; then students picked out a saint to portray. Entire families were involved in the preparation of costumes, props and short biographies of the saints. Some parents also dressed as saints and participated. Teachers dressed as saints too.

Thirty-two saints processed into Mass to “The Saints Come Marching In.” At the parish All Saints party following Mass, doughnuts and cider were served and each saint gave a short bio at the mike.
