Thanks to the generous support of a grant from the Mother Cabrini Foundation, Holy Family School’s vibrant gardening and growing initiative is in full swing. Students from pre-K3 through fifth grade are actively engaged in hands-on gardening and growing. The project features hydroponic tower gardens indoors and raised beds outdoors, offering diverse opportunities for student engagement and science exploration.
This living laboratory helps students deepen their understanding of science concepts. It also nurtures crucial Catholic social and emotional learning (CSEL) skills. Through teamwork, mindful reflection, and the rewarding experience of nurturing living things, students are developing valuable skills in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
The enthusiasm for the Holy Family School Garden is strong, and the school community is deeply grateful to the Mother Cabrini Foundation for its vital financial support.
