The annual Most Holy Rosary Oktoberfest Celebration will be held Oct. 4-6 in Maine.

Hours for the free community event at 2596 Main St. are 5-11 p.m. Friday, 5-11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

Mass times for that weekend are 4 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

A variety of entertainment is available for young and old: music from local bands including Splash on Friday; BC Celtic Pipe & Drum, Friday at Fred’s and Frostbit Blue on Saturday; and Fritz’s Polka Band on Sunday.

Offered will be a variety of good food at good prices, such as spiedies, sausage, bratwurst, steak sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, halupki, halushki, pirogies, and pizza. On Sunday, two German dishes will be offered: sauerbraten and schnitzel.  Afterward, visit the bake sale or dessert tent for delicious treats.

There are plenty of games and activities for younger children. The kids enjoy face painting and fun games such as Pumpkin Patch, Turkey Trot, Winter Wonderland, and Candy Land, along with sports games of skill. A game truck will be outside on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Country Store features new, vintage, and antique merchandise. In addition, many beautifully crafted theme baskets will be raffled off and the Pennies from Heaven raffle tickets will be available for $25 each: $14,000 in prizes — top prize is $8,000.
