While the school may only be two years old, it has the unique support system of two parish communities — St. Daniel Church of Lyncourt and St. Matthew’s Church of East Syracuse — giving the school over 100 years of experience in providing quality Catholic education to young people.
St. Daniel-St. Matthew Academy strives to educate the whole child in the image and likeness of God. The school practices many traditions that began over 50 years ago that are still cherish today. Children begin and end their day in prayer, participate in monthly Masses, follow the “Golden Rule,” learn to pray the rosary and walk in a rosary procession, give service to others and are taught the Gospel message of Jesus every day.
The academic and extra-curricular programs help to build educated and well-rounded students that will serve the churches and communities in future years.
The parents are passionate about the success of the school. They are very supportive, volunteering many hours at fund-raising events and school activities. The families look forward to family fun nights, bingo nights and disco nights. The St. Daniel-St. Matthew Academy community believes that once you walk through the doors you become part of the school family.
The school’s many service projects throughout the year allow children to see beyond their own surroundings. These projects help students become aware of the needs of others and to provide assistance to meet those needs.
St. Daniel-St. Matthew Academy offers nearly 20 extra-curricular activities to students and continually seeks to add new programs of interest to our students. Field trips also enhance the education of the children in ways that connect to their learning in the classroom.
Those who are searching for a school with high academic standards, a highly competent staff, supportive parents and parish communities, numerous extra-curricular activities, and a strong Catholic identity, may wish to consider St. Daniel-St. Matthew Academy.
