Altar servers honored for their contributions

Father Joseph O’Connor, front center in the above photo, commissioned new altar servers and promoted existing servers during a special ceremony recently held at St. Mary of the Assumption in Baldwinsville.
Assisted by Deacon Joseph Casper (left), new servers were welcomed while existing servers were recommissioned as senior altar servers.
Fr. O’Connor noted during the ceremony that it’s heartening to see how deeply these young people desire to serve — not only at the altar of the Lord but also as leaders within the parish community. Senior altar servers embrace their roles as mentors, helping guide the new servers in this ministry. which fosters a supportive environment for growth and creates a smooth, healthy transition within our ministry.
Deacon Casper observed that this commitment among the young people enriches the parish family and creates creating a spirit of reverence, teamwork and faith.
