Retirement:
Rev. John R. DeLorenzo, currently Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Jordan, N.Y., will be retiring after 50 years of faithful service to the Diocese of Syracuse, effective July 1, 2026. The Diocese is grateful for his devoted priestly ministry.
Appointments:
Rev. Cornelius P. Deep, having been ordained by Bishop Lucia at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on May 30, 2026, is appointed Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, St. Ambrose Church, St. Anthony of Padua Church, and St. Joseph Church in Endicott, New York, as well as Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal, New York, effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. John F. Brusa III, currently Parochial Vicar of St. James Church, Johnson City, N.Y., is appointed Parochial Vicar of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, N.Y., and Divine Mercy Parish, Central Square, N.Y., effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. James V. Buttner, currently Parochial Vicar of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, N.Y., and Divine Mercy Parish, Central Square, N.Y., will be studying Canon Law at St. Paul’s University, Ottawa, Canada, effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Malachi F. Clark, currently Administrator of St. Mary’s Church and St. Anthony of Padua Church, Cortland, New York; St. Margaret Church, Homer, New York; St. Patrick Church, Truxton, N.Y.; and St. Lawrence Mission, DeRuyter, N.Y., is appointed Administrator of The Catholic Community of St. Stephen-St. Patrick in Whitney Point and Marathon, N.Y., and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mission in Cincinnatus, New York. Also, Father Clark will be assisting with hospital coverage in Syracuse, effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Robert P. Hyde, Jr., currently Pastor of St. Joseph Church, Camillus, N.Y., is appointed Pastor of St. Patrick Church, Jordan, N.Y., in addition to his current assignment, effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Kenneth R. Kirkman, currently Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, St. Ambrose Church, and St. Joseph Church in Endicott, N.Y., is appointed Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, N.Y., and St. Paul’s Church, Binghamton, N.Y., effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Arthur W. Krawczenko, currently Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, N.Y., and St. Paul’s Church, Binghamton, N.Y., is appointed Pastor of St. Mary’s Church, Cortland, N.Y.; St. Anthony of Padua Church, Cortland, N.Y.; St. Margaret Church, Homer, New York; St. Patrick Church, Truxton, N.Y.; and St. Lawrence Mission, DeRuyter, N.Y., effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Thomas Macauley, OP, effective July 1, 2026, will no longer be Administrator of St. Patrick’s Church, Whitney Point; St. Stephen Church, Marathon; and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mission, Cincinnatus, New York. He will be returning to Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Rev. Richard P. Prior, Jr., currently Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Endicott, Our Lady of Sorrows, Vestal, N.Y., and the Diocesan Director of Seminary Formation, is appointed Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, N.Y., St. Ambrose Church, Endicott, N.Y., and St. Joseph Church, Endicott, N.Y., in addition to his current assignments, effective July 1, 2026.
