The Lenten Soup & Speaker Series at Blessed Sacrament Church in Syracuse is back for its second year. Following the theme for the Jubilee Year, “Pilgrims of Hope,” all are welcome to attend the series, which will feature a different speaker each week on Wednesdays during Lent. The speakers will share how their organizations provide hope to our brothers and sisters in need in our community, and each brings an awareness of how we are all called to be “Pilgrims of Hope” to the least of those among us.
The Soup & Speaker Series will take place in the Andrea Polcaro Room at Blessed Sacrament, which is located at the back of the school from the parking lot. Speakers will present from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by soup, bread, and fellowship from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Each week, a different group will provide crockpots of soup, including altar servers’ families, the Pastoral Council, Blessed Sacrament School staff, First Communion families and Confirmation families. A free will collection will be available to provide the weekly presenters’ organizations with assistance needed for maintaining their mission and outreach.
