The months Christine Fisher spent writing her latest book, “God’s Compassion Illuminated,” culminated in a recent successful book launch at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Endicott.

Those in attendance witnessed a moving presentation on how God inspired her to write about the signs he gave her and people in her life. She also treated her audience to a reading of two reflections in her new book, including one titled Judean Desert, from the section that takes readers on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

According to Mrs. Fisher, the lesson she learned in the desert is that extending a hand to someone can help that person have more courage to do more than they expected.

Another book launch is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at OLGC, 701 W. Main St., Endicott.

There are currently no plans for a new book, but Mrs. Fisher said she will continue to write the weekly reflections on her website “as long as God keeps providing the inspiration.” You can visit www.hopetoinspireyou.com to receive weekly posts by email.

Christine will be heading to Arlington, Texas, in March; “God’s Love Illuminated” has been nominated for a Christian Literary Award.

On Feb. 28, Christine presented copies of her newest book to Bishop Douglas J. Lucia and Sean Forrest, well known author, musician and Haiti missionary who was presenting a Lenten retreat in the Southern Tier.
