Holy Family School in Norwich recently celebrated a new initiative to promote literacy in the Norwich community with the official ribbon-cutting and blessing of its new Free Little Library.

The joyous event brought together the entire school community with Father Dan Caughey offering a beautiful blessing over the library, dedicating it as a sacred space for sharing knowledge and fostering a love for reading. The celebration was highlighted by a fun confetti surprise during the ribbon cutting, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The Free Little Library operates on a simple “take a book, leave a book” model, offering a constant rotation of children’s books for all to enjoy. The project reflects Holy Family School’s commitment to not only the reading success of its students but also to serving the wider community.

Holy Family is so excited for this project. We hope the library will become a beloved spot where books are shared, stories are discovered, and the simple magic of reading is cherished by all.
