Deacon Thomas Joseph Hachey, of North Syracuse, passed away Oct. 15, 2025, at Crouse Hospital. He was born in East Hartford, Conn. on Oct. 26, 1937, one of eight children of Mary and Rudolph Hachey. He graduated from The Ward School of Electronics and went on to work as an electronic engineer at General Electric for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Tom was ordained as a Catholic deacon in 1991 and served as a lifelong deacon at Christ the King Church in Liverpool, NY. He was a Red Sox fan and an avid model railroader.
He is predeased by his wife of 43 years, Carlyn Hachey. Deacon Tom is survived by three sons, Michael Hachey (Jacqueline Howland) of Guilderland, NY; Stephen Hachey (Patricia) of Mallory, NY; a daughter, Mary Beth Hachey of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three siblings.
Calling hours and a Mass of Christian burial were held on Oct. 23 and 24, respectively, at Christ the King Church, followed by the Rite of Committal and burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
