Sister Michaeleen (Elizabeth) Cabral OSF, 90, went home to God on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2025, at the Franciscan Villa in Syracuse. She was born in Honolulu and had been a Sister of St. Francis for 65 years.

Sister was predeceased by her adoptive parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Kuaiaina) Cabral, and adoptive brother, Carl A. Cabral. She is survived by her Hawaiian Ohana Family, the Kon Family, and the Sisters of St. Francis.

Sister Michaeleen was a medic in the Army, an educator and principal in New York, Hawaii, and California, and worked as a licensed marriage and family therapist for San Diego County. She was a member of the Sisters of St. Francis Leadership Team and held various administrative roles with the Sisters of St. Francis.

Sister will be remembered by many for her graceful liturgical dancing, other musical talents, and bringing forth the second miracle, allowing Blessed Marianne Cope to be raised to Sainthood in 2012.
