Just a wee post today. (Do I sound Irish yet? No, didn’t think so.)
We spent the morning at Blarney Castle, where many of us kissed the Blarney Stone, said to bestow the gift of gab, the gift of eloquence or the ability to lie convincingly for seven long years. (Will report back on the outcome.) We also wandered the extensive grounds and gardens on a lovely early fall day.
We celebrated Mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Fermoy this afternoon. In his homily, Bishop Cunningham reminded us that Jesus is less interested in our past than in our present and future. He meets us where we are and wants to comfort and console us. We also prayed for the success of the Synod on the Family, which Pope Francis opened today in Rome, and for the strengthening of all families.
Be assured of our prayers for all of you and for your intentions, which we carry with us.
