- All adults, from the completion of their 18th year to the beginning of their 60th year, are expected to fast.
- All who have completed their 14th year are bound by abstinence.
- All Fridays in the season of Lent are days of abstinence.
- Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are both days of fasting and abstinence.
- Bishop Cunningham has granted a dispensation for March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day).
