Longtime educator Sigbieny retires

UTICA — Retiring after more than 41 years working in Utica-area Catholic schools, Cindy Sigbieny of Notre Dame Elementary has said goodbye to her last two pre-school classes.​ Sigbieny was honored for her years of service at the 2017 Light the Way dinner sponsored by the diocesan Catholic Schools Office. She told the Sun then that her love for teaching and watching her students grow and progress kept her going. “It’s the love of it,” she said. “I just love those little kids.”
