On Feb. 2, 2017, the priests, clergy, staff and parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto celebrated the 60th anniversary of ordination of Father Joseph M. Larkin, as well as his wonderful service for an amazing 42 years as our beloved pastor at that time.

Now, just a few years later, we have come together again to honor another remarkable achievement—his 90th birthday! We extend our congratulations and best wishes to him and our prayerful thanks to God asking for his continued longevity, health and happiness.

On Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, Father Larkin’s birthday, the 9 a.m. Mass at OLPH was celebrated by Father John J. Smegelsky in thanksgiving for Father Larkin’s 90 years.

A favorite saying of Father Larkin’s is that we need to understand the “reality of our situation.” At this moment, the “reality of our situation” is the Catholic community of OLPH is blessed to have him in our lives. Deo Gratias!

Please keep Father Larkin in your prayers. Thank you and God bless!
