The annual Most Holy Rosary Parish Oktoberfest Celebration featuring family fun is set for Sept. 28-30 in  Maine.

The hours for the free community event are 6-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 5-11 p.m. Sept. 29, and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Most Holy Rosary Parish grounds, 2596 Main St.

Mass times for that weekend have been changed to 4 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday.

A variety of entertainment is available for young and old: local bands including Old Friends on Friday; Messy Truth, BC Celtic Pipes & Drum, and FC3 on Saturday; and Hot Dogs & Gin on Sunday.

Offered will be a variety of good food at good prices such as spiedies, sausage, bratwurst, steak sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, halupki, and pierogis. For the first time, sauerbraten and ethnic dinners will be available Sunday.

There are plenty of games and activities for younger children. The kids enjoy face painting and games such as Pumpkin Patch, Haunted Mansion, Turkey Trot, Winter Wonderland, and Candy Land, along with sporty games of skill.

The Country Store features new, vintage, and antique merchandise. Many beautifully crafted theme baskets will be raffled off during the event. “Pennies from Heaven” raffle tickets will be available — $19,000 in prizes with a top prize of $10,000.
