A 36-year-old Purple Heart veteran told his story to Holy Cross School students on the school’s Patriot Day, Jan. 31. Former Army Capt. Nathan M. Jerauld served for six years. He told the students he was shot in the left arm in Afghanistan, and he explained various aspects of military life including boot camp. Ex-Capt. Jerauld is now a lawyer for Bousquet Holstein PLLC in Syracuse. Also on Patriot Day, the students wrote thank-you cards to veterans and members of the armed forces. (Sun photos | Tom Maguire)
