The Catholic Sun is pleased to share that Tami S. Scott has joined its team as associate editor.

Tami earned her B.A. in Communications at SUNY Oswego and has an extensive editorial background. She worked as the managing editor at Scotsman Community Publications and was editor of two long-standing community weeklies, the Eagle Bulletin and Baldwinsville Messenger, published by Eagle Newspapers. Most recently she worked as the newsletter editor for Bishop Ludden Jr/Sr High School.

Tami is an award-winning writer, having won third place for her short story, “His Way,” in the Spring 2022 Xulon Press Christian Writers Awards Writing Contest. She has been a freelance writer and editor since 2007.

“I feel incredibly grateful to be part of The Sun and a member of the Diocese of Syracuse team. Everyone has been so warm, welcoming and supportive as I learn all the intricacies that come with beginning a new position. In this role, my goal is to serve the Lord to the best of my ability as it says to do in Colossians 3:23 – ‘Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord and not for others.’”

In her free time, Tami enjoys cooking, traveling, watching way too many “Friends” reruns, and spending time with her friends and family.

Tami has three children: Juliana, Santiago, and Jonathan, and one grandson, Thiago. She resides in Liverpool and is a member of St. Augustine Parish in Baldwinsville.
