Eighteen of the 21 diocesan schools participated this spring in the Light the Way Walk-A-Thon, a fundraiser for scholarships and the cancer center at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse. A total of $24,436 was raised with more that $17,000 donated to Golisano. The remaining $7,330 will go toward Catholic school scholarships. 

Participating schools were St. Mary’s (Cortland), All Saints (Endicott), St. James (Johnson City), St. John the Evangelist (Binghamton), Holy Family (Norwich), Notre Dame Elementary (Utica), Rome Catholic, St. Patrick’s (Oneida), Trinity Catholic (Oswego), St. Mary’s Academy (Baldwinsville), Holy Family (Fairmount), Immaculate Conception (Fayetteville), St. Rose of Lima (N. Syracuse), and Bishop Grimes, Bishop Ludden, Blessed Sacrament, Cathedral Academy at Pompei and Most Holy Rosary (Syracuse).
