Bishop Douglas J. Lucia presided at the Closing Mass for the Year of Vocations on the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, Nov. 21, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse. The Year of Vocations, opened by Bishop Lucia on Nov. 14, 2020, was a diocesanwide effort to help all baptized Catholics discover God’s call in their lives. Pictured are Bishop Lucia and Father Jason Hage, the Director of the Office of Vocation Promotion for the Diocese of Syracuse. Also pictured is the traveling icon of St. Joseph, which was hosted by parishes across the diocese throughout the Year of Vocations. Bishop Lucia had commenced the Year of Vocations by saying that the faithful were called to “embrace their God-given vocation in life” and “provide Christ Jesus with a dwelling place in today’s world as did St. Joseph.” (Sun photos | Chuck Wainwright)
