An evening of pipe organ music March 29 segued into a reception in honor of Bishop Robert J. Cunningham’s upcoming 50th jubilee. Hundreds of people attended the concert by Daniel Brondel, associate director of music and organist at New York City’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse. Before the concert, parishioner Dan Fay gave the visitors a tour of the restored cathedral. Shown above at the post-concert reception are, from left, Brondel, Bishop Cunningham, and Father Joseph Clemente, administrator of St. Cecilia Church in Solvay and Our Lady of Peace in Syracuse. Shown below in the choir loft before the concert are Father Clemente, Brondel, and Alan Lynch, director of music ministry at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. A full report on Brondel’s concert will appear in next week’s issue of the Sun. (Sun photo | Tom Maguire)
