IC School wins chess tourney

FAYETTEVILLE — The Immaculate Conception School chess team took first place among four teams in the K-6 Division at the Mott Road Spring Scholastic Chess Tournament on March 2 at Mott Road Elementary School. IC sixth-grader Christopher O’Connor placed sixth in the individual category. Coach Jim Gonnella’s IC team also included fifth-graders Eric Lee, Thomas Cooney, Joshua Gleasman, and Richard Riccelli, and third-grader Christian Lee. The chess team meets every week for an hour after school.
