Mr. and Mrs. Richard Delaney of Oswego celebrated their 55th anniversary on July 10, 2009. Richard and Sally (Remus) were married on July 10, 1954 in Holy Family Church in Watertown. For their 50th anniversary, their children organized a surprise celebration on July 10th at the DA Lodge.
Afterwards, they enjoyed a trip to their favorite part of the Adirondacks. Richard retired from housing maintenance at Oswego State University. Sally retired from Loretto Nursing Home. This marriage has been blessed by 12 children: Debbie and Gary Ayers, David and Ellen Delaney, Dicky and Kathy Delaney, Donnie and Karen Delaney, Danny and Anita Delaney, Diana Delaney, Duane Delaney, Darlene Delaney, Dawn and Randy Wicks, Dale and Tonya Delaney, Dessa Delaney and Denise and Scott Dohse. They also have 18 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Their greatest joy is spending time with their children and grandchildren. Both are loved and greatly admired by the family they raised.
