Blessing of the animals

Kindergartners at Holy Family School in Syracuse brought some of their favorite stuffed animals to the parish Shrine, where Father John Manno joined them and gave the toys a special blessing.
Father Cliff Auth blessed many four-legged friends, like those seen here, at St. Mary’s Academy in Baldwinsville.
The parking lot of Notre Dame Elementary School in Utica was full of all God’s creatures — cats, dogs, hermit crabs, and even a turtle. Following Mass, students had their animals blessed by Father Joe Salerno.
