UTICA — Catholic Charities of Oneida/Madison County, Platinum Presenting Sponsor Joe Tahan’s Furniture, and Gold Sponsor Excellus BlueCross Blue Shield will host the 2nd Annual Starfish Awards Luncheon May 17 to honor those in the community who are making a positive difference in the lives of others.
This year’s honorees are Rev. Joseph Salerno, Eve Van de Wal, and Bonide Products, Inc.
Father Joseph Salerno is the pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes & Our Lady of the Rosary churches. He has made it his lifelong mission to serve others. He actively supports many local organizations and has served on a variety of nonprofit boards in the area.
Eve Van de Wal, regional president of the Utica Region for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, is a dedicated and committed supporter of local events and initiatives.
Bonide Products, Inc., is a third-generation family business that has grown into a national brand. The leadership team of Bonide Products, Inc., believes that through their generosity of time, talent, and treasure they can make a difference in the lives of others in the community.
The luncheon will be held 12-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club, 169 Main St., New York Mills. Proceeds from this event will benefit Catholic Charities’ programs, serving those in Oneida and Madison counties who are most in need.
