Catholic Charities of Onondaga County will honor three individuals at the 31st annual House of Providence Dinner May 18 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at the Oncenter. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m.
James and Christine Fantasia Connors will receive the Humanitarian Service Medallion. This award honors individuals who have dedicated their professional and personal lives to the service of others. James Connors is the founder of Emerald Resources, Inc. The Connors’ decades of service include involvement with Francis House, the Ronald McDonald House, Immaculate Conception Church and Le Moyne College, among others.
Maureen McCarthy Tracy will receive the President’s Medallion. The President’s Medallion honors individuals who are devoted to the betterment of the human condition and demonstrate vision and leadership in their contributions. Tracy’s service includes the American Red Cross of CNY, Leadership Greater Syracuse, McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center, OHA’s “Forever Hotel Syracuse” dinner, American Heart Association, and more.
Catholic Charities of Onondaga County helps people in need regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity, or nationality. Over 19,000 Syracuse-area people are assisted annually. Proceeds from the annual House of Providence Dinner will be used wherever need is greatest.
