Immaculate Conception School in Fayetteville kicked off its 60th anniversary and the start of its school year Sept. 12 with a special Mass celebrated by Bishop Robert J. Cunningham and IC’s Father Tom Ryan and Msgr. Ron Bill.

Principal Don Mills noted that carrying on the school’s history and traditions of academic excellence, faith, and service are at the heart of the anniversary observance. Catholic education “is special, something to be cherished,” he said.
