BINGHAMTON — Lourdes Hospital and the Lung Cancer Alliance will hold a Shine A Light program on lung cancer Nov. 27.

The public is invited to the eighth annual event, which is part of a national campaign to raise awareness about lung cancer and to offer hope, inspiration, support, and remembrance for those touched by the disease. It is the largest internationally coordinated awareness event for lung cancer in the world.

Participants will learn about early detection with lung cancer screening and the latest advancements in treatments from experts at Lourdes and Broome Oncology as well as stories of survival from patients. The free event is an opportunity to be connected with those in the lung-cancer community.

The event is set for 5:30 p.m. at The Binghamton Club, 83 Front St., Binghamton. Registration is required; visit www.shinealightonlungcancer.org  or contact Melanie Nittinger at (607) 798-LUNG.
