Sister Theresa Ann Gehringer, DSMP, 64, passed away on Oct. 7, in Lake Zurich, Ill. She was born on Dec. 3, 1950 to Lewis and Margaret Gehringer of Detroit, Mich.
Sister Theresa Ann made profession to the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence on Aug. 15, 1975. She served those with developmental disabilities, taught education and religious education and most recently served in the faith formation office at Holy Family Parish, Syracuse.
She was a quiet woman of faith with a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed helping with many activities in the parish, especially with the youth group students. She recently celebrated her 40th anniversary of as a Daughter of St. Mary of Providence.
Sister Theresa Ann is survived by her brothers, Lewis (Carol) Gehringer and Richard (Kathy) Gehringer; niece Erica Gehringer; nephews Phillip Gehringer and Rick (Sarah) Gehringer; and great nephew Justin Gehringer.
A funeral Mass was held on Oct. 9 at Mount St. Joseph Chapel in Lake Zurich, followed by interment at the chapel’s cemetery.
