Bishop Robert J. Cunningham announced the following personnel assignments April 14:
RETIREMENTS
Reverend James E. Gehl, Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Cicero, will retire on June 30, 2015. We thank Father Gehl for his many years of faithful service.
Reverend Edward J. Zandy, Pastor of St. Vincent de Paul-Blessed Sacrament Church in Vestal, will retire on June 30, 2015. We thank Father Zandy for his many years of faithful service.
APPOINTMENTS
Reverend John D. Manno, Pastor of St. James Church in Syracuse, has been appointed Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Fairmount. This appointment is effective July 1, 2015.
Reverend Sean P. O’Brien, former Pastor of Christ Our Hope Community in Boonville and currently serving as Military Chaplain, has been appointed Pastor of St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse, with linkages of St. Mary’s Church in Minoa and St. Francis Church in Bridgeport. This appointment is effective September 1, 2015.
Reverend Richard P. Prior, Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Fairmount, has been appointed Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Cicero. This appointment is effective July 1, 2015.
Reverend Corey S. VanKuren, Chaplain of SUNY Binghamton, has been appointed Pastor of St. Vincent de Paul-Blessed Sacrament Church in Vestal with Sacramental responsibilities at SUNY Binghamton. This appointment is effective July 1, 2015.
EXCARDINATION
Reverend Mark J. Gantley, who formerly served in the Diocese of Syracuse, has been granted excardination from our Diocese and incardination into the Diocese of Honolulu. The appointment is effective April 15, 2015. We thank Father Gantley for his many years of faithful service.
