Sean Kirst, longtime Upstate journalist, writer, and storyteller who spent nearly 25 years as a columnist for the Syracuse Post-Standard and who has contributed to the Sun, has authored a new book: The Soul of Central New York: Syracuse Stories by Sean Kirst (Syracuse University Press) is a collection of Kirst’s columns spanning almost a quarter-century. Kirst will hold several talks and signings in the coming weeks:

Dec. 14: Book launch, Onondaga Historical Association, 321 Montgomery St., Syracuse, 4-7 p.m.

Dec. 15: Talk and signing, Barnes & Noble DeWitt, 3454 Erie Boulevard E., DeWitt, 7 p.m.

Dec. 20: Talk and signing sponsored by the Strathmore Speaker Series, Syracuse Downtown Marriott (Hotel Syracuse) community room and lobby, 100 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, 7:30 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public. Books will be available for sale at each event.
