NEW YORK MILLS — Sacred Heart-St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church, in New York Mills, N.Y., held its annual Polish-American Parish festival Aug 7-8.

More than 2,000 people attended the two-day event, including visitors from Poland.

The festival offered traditional Polish foods, including over 14,000 pierogi made by volunteers, as well as many other tasty treats. In addition to food, attendees enjoyed games of chance and raffles, activities for children, a bake sale, a flea market and traditional Polish entertainment that included Tony’s Polka Band from Amsterdam, N.Y., and TATRY, a Polish folk song and dance ensemble from Oshawa, Ontario.

The annual festival has become an opportunity for the parish community, under the leadership of Father Arthur Krawczenko, to celebrate, support and find fellowship together.
