Hundreds went under the clippers in Syracuse March 1, voluntarily losing their locks to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancers.

Teams and individuals from all over Central New York gathered at Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub & Restaurant for the pub’s 11th St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation raises and distributes funds to support childhood cancer research. The event at Kitty Hoynes is hugely successful; in 2014, it raised $491,945 and landed the third spot on the foundation’s list of top events, according to the St. Baldrick’s website.

Just an hour into this year’s event, some 540 individuals were registered to participate, $363,000 was raised and both numbers were growing. Here, a few shots of those who braved the shave. See more at www.thecatholicsun.com.
